SCHOOLS TARGETED BY CITY VANDALS

From: Aberdeen Evening Express, UK - 13 Jan 2003

Yobs caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after smashing windows and wrecking the kitchen at an abandoned Aberdeen school.

The vandals threw stones through seven windows at Linksfield Academy, last Friday. They then entered the building, which closed on June 28 last year, and trashed the kitchen.

A stone was also lobbed through a window of the Aberdeen School for the Deaf on Regent Walk.

Police believe the incidents are related.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the cost to repair the damage was over £1,500.

Police said several youths were seen in the area at the time of the incidents.
