Pawlenty reads to kids

Minnesota's new governor continued his inaugural week events by hitting the books.

Tim Pawlenty and read to students at John Johnson Elementary School in St. Paul Wednesday morning. The governor chose that school because it is considered a model school for its district.

The governor read to about 40 first-grade students. The book chosen was the class' book of the month, titled “Paper Dragon.”

Afterward, Pawlenty toured the school.

Also Wednesday, First Lady Mary Pawlenty read to students at Metro Deaf Charter school, and Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau read to students at Jenny Lind Elementary School.
