Victory Life gains sweep over Oklahoma School of the Deaf

SULPHUR - The Victory Life Lady Eagles and Eagles rolled to a doubleheader sweep over the Oklahoma School of the Deaf Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles improved to 4-5 for the year with a 62-44 win, while the Eagles, also 4-5 for the year, gained a 66-31 decision.

Victory Life, which has not played a home game this season, will travel to Springer Friday for its next action.

In the girls' action, Victory Life took an 18-9 lead after the first eight minutes of action and pushed the margin to 34-19 at halftime.

The Lady Eagles maintained a 51-25 lead after three quarters before being outscored by eight points in the final chapter.

Sarah Hill led Victory Life with 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Hannah Needham chipped in 12 points with four boards and five assists.

Grace Emerich added eight points, and Sarah Stilwell had six. Maria Cabrera and Lindsey Grizzle scored five points each. Grizzle also collected five steals.

Brittany Ball and Andrea Rothenberg tallied four and three points, respectively, and Tori Weatherly had two points.

In the boys' contest, the Eagles had a 12-9 lead after the first quarter and stretched the margin to 31-20 at intermission. VLA led 46-25 after three quarters.

Josh Alexander topped the Eagles with 20 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Jamie Stafford added 12 points. Lathe Eggenberg and Drea Matson scored six points each.

Chris Amerson and Jared had one point.
