Gallery Players offer '34th Street' in ASL
From: Minnesota Sun Publications, MN - 12 Dec 2002
The Bloomington Art Center's Gallery Players will present an American Sign Language (ASL) and audio-described performance of 'Miracle on 34th Street' at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Northwestern Health Sciences University, 2501 W. 84th St., Bloomington.
The traditional holiday production concerns a child's discovery in a department store of the 'real' Santa Claus, who must then prove his identity in court.
Two ASL interpreters and one audio describer will make the performance more enjoyable for theater-goers with vision or hearing impairments, said Susan Anderson, executive director of the Bloomington Art Center (BAC).
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, BAC members and those age 65 or older, and $6 for children 12 and younger. Half-price tickets are available for people with disabilities.
Information/reservations: 952-563-4777.
