Club Donates Materials to Deaf School

The Rotaract Club of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has donated textbooks and stationery worth thousands of naira to the Wesley School for the Deaf.

The presentation of the items in Lagos coincided with the 40th anniversary of the school.

Making the presentation, the president of the club, Rotr; Olasunbo Ajala, said the gesture was borne out of the need to enhance the quality of both human and material resources of the community, irrespective of who was involved.

He said the club, through its various activities, had being providing services to the needy, sensitising the haves to render assistance to the have-nots.

The vice president of the club, Rotr; Toyin Adebayo, promised the club's commitment to alleviate the plight of the disabled in the community saying more good things should be expected from the UNILAG Rotaract family.

Receiving the items, the principal of the school, Mr Taiwo A. Gbeleyi, thanked the club for the gesture and promised equitable distribution of the materials.

Items donated included exercise books, Bic ball-points, pencils, rulers, textbooks, chalks and envelopes.
