Albuquerque Man Enters Plea In Murder Case

From: KOAT, NM - 12 Dec 2002

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A man has pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in the death of a 68-year-old hearing-impaired woman he was robbing in her Albuquerque apartment.

Daniel Booth, 20, of Albuquerque also pleaded no contest to a charge of robbery Wednesday during a hearing before state District Judge Pat Murdoch, according to Booth's attorney, Whitney Johnson.

Patsy Mortensen was found dead April 10 in her apartment. She died after being struck in the face.

Booth was arrested after an investigation turned up his fingerprints on a cookie tin and a lighter. Booth is to be sentenced Feb. 3.
