Ozzy Osbourne, or 'dad' as he's known to fans the world over of MTV's hit reality sitcom, has teamed up with fast-footed Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich to educate aspiring musicians, and the general public, about the dangers of noise.

Ozzy and Lars both feature in a 15 minute education video made by the Hearing Aid Music Foundation to raise awareness about noise-induced hearing loss. The rock giants, along with the likes of Linkin Park's Brad Delson, Blondie's Debbie Harry and MTV Europe Music Awards performers Wyclef Jean and Moby all appear in the video to encourage "safer practices in consuming high decibel sound".

Statistics cited in the vid state that an estimated one in ten Americans suffer from hearing loss. Apparently some tried telling Ozzy that a few years back, but he didn't hear them.

In other Osbournes news, family matriarch Sharon Osbourne, who this week dispelled rumours that she wanted to boot the MTV cameras out of their house, will host her own Oprah Winfrey-style talk show, according to reports. Sharon's show is expected to hit American telly in autumn. Jerry Springer be afraid.
