MOTION PICTURE ACCESS (MoPix) NEWS
Week of November 8 to November 14
HARRY POTTER COUNTDOWN
One week to go until HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS is released with closed captions and descriptive narration in select MoPix-equipped theaters!
HUGE FILMS ON HUGE SCREENS
Among the films being released in IMAX theaters this fall are STAR WARS: EPISODE TWO- ATTACK OF THE CLONES: THE IMAX EXPERIENCE (Lucasfilm, Ltd. and 20th Century Fox Film Corporation), THE LION KING and the new film TREASURE ISLAND (both from Buena Vista Pictures). The films will be shown with access features in select MoPix-equipped large format theaters. TREASURE ISLAND will also play in conventional movie theaters.
LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS
No word yet. When we hear whether New Line Cinema, the film's distributor, will release this film on December 18 with closed captions and descriptions, we'll let you know.
INSTALLATION UPDATES
New AMC theaters in Chicago and in Arlington, TX are set to debut their MoPix systems within the next few weeks. We'll pass along word of openings and first films to debut with closed captions and descriptions as soon as the RWC/DVST systems are up and running.
MoPix systems at 11 additional Famous Players sites will debut next week just in time for HARRY POTTER. That makes 31 MoPix installations for Canada's largest theater chain. Locations, films and showtimes will appear in next week's update.
Updates will be shared as we learn more regarding:
* The new AMC Theater at Bay Street in Oakland, CA
* A second system at Mann's Chinese 6 in Hollywood, CA
* National Amusements latest installation in Worcester, MA
