Employment Facilitator

Job Description The Work Bridge Association has a full-time position available as an Employment Facilitator.

This position will be based in Halifax. The Employment Facilitator will be responsible for assisting job ready persons with disabilities in attaining employment. This position is a one year contract with possibility of renewal. Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience and education and includes benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provision of employment support services for job ready people with
disabilities in the Halifax region
• Fluency in American Sign Language and strong background knowledge of deaf and HOH culture and would be a definite asset
• Develop employer network to increase the number of persons with disabilities securing gainful employment
• Maintain a cooperative relationship with the business community and like minded agencies, through job development and networking.
• Arrange job interviews and provide follow up support
• Provide ongoing employer education regarding people with disabilities
• Assist in the recruitment of potential HRM clients, determine eligibility of clients, enroll and orient them to services
• Compile statistical information and maintain files/case notes on clients. Upload data weekly to agency database
• Provide support to the agency and community and other duties as assigned by Program Manager

Qualifications:
Undergraduate deg + 3-5 yrs exp or equivalent exp & training/ Knowledge of labour market/ employment support agencies/ programs for people with disabilities/job search skills/ Fluency in American Sign Language and strong background knowledge of deaf and HOH culture and would be a definite asset/Excellent, demonstrated computer skills; knowledge of MS Office preferred/ Proficiency with database would be an definite asset/Excellent written, verbal communication skills/ Reliable transportation and ability to travel to appointments within a flexible work week.
