Racker Centers to hold audiology clinic open house

ITHACA -- The Franziska Racker Centers' Audiology Clinic will hold an open house from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 8 at 214 Elmira Rd.

Demonstrations will take place on the newest hearing-aid technology, now offered through the centers, including the first voice-activated hearing aid, called Adapto. Demonstrations are available by appointment. Hourly presentations on hearing loss issues will be held and refreshments and tours of the clinic will also be provided.

The Adapto demonstrations at the open house may be of particular interest. Adapto uses a type of artificial intelligence popularized in voice-activated phones and speech recognition computer software.

To schedule a demonstration, call 277-8020. Interested individuals may also just stop in on the hour to attend the presentation, and have a tour and some refreshments.
