The National Aquarium in Baltimore has received a $112,500 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that awards grants to support museums and libraries.

The grant, awarded this month, will allow the aquarium to support and expand programs, including Fridays After Five and Dollar Days, with admission prices of $5 and $1, respectively; Conservation Action, in which staff and volunteers restore wetlands and tend marine animals; and its Access Aquarium and Deaf Awareness Days programs.

Of 839 applicants, the aquarium was one of 179 to receive grants.
